Welcome to Southridge School!
We are pleased you have chosen to explore the possibility of joining our Southridge community.
At Southridge, we’re proud of the work we do, the results we achieve, and the students we graduate. Choosing the right place for your child to learn and develop can change their life in amazing ways - ways that become evident long after their school journey ends. Your child’s personality, learning style, and academic ability, as well as your own family values, goals, and priorities, are all things you should consider when choosing an independent school. No two schools are the same - just as no two children are the same.
Southridge was created in 1995 through the sheer determination of a group of committed parents and Headmaster Emeritus, Alan Brown. Their goal was to create an educational alternative - a school community focused on developing people who would help make the world a better place.
We take pride in our first-rate academic program that encourages our students to think independently, to contribute to the collective, and to use their minds to reflect and analyze. Our academic programs include:
- Junior School (Grades K-7): International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme
- Senior School (Grades 8-12): Our enriched Senior School Educational Program curriculum uses the Harkness philosophy, which shifts the focus from teaching students “what to think” to teaching them “how to think”.
- Advanced Placement: Senior students have the opportunity to earn college-level credits through a wide range of Advanced Placement courses.
In our halls, you’ll hear Southridge described as a “lighthearted place of serious purpose”, meaning that we balance our rigorous learning environment with opportunities to have fun, build school spirit, and create lasting memories. Our classrooms brim with energy, debate, and laughter.
We offer a supportive environment where students can discover, explore, and share their interests and passions through our four pillars: academics, arts, athletics, and service. We teach your child to express their passion and purpose, to believe in themselves, and to make a difference.
Southridge has a no-gifts policy. We respect the gesture of appreciation; however we do not accept donations or gifts, or consider the promise of such from prospective families.
