At Southridge, we believe that all young people have the potential to make a difference in the world. Our scholarship and bursary programs support students to boldly pursue their dreams.

Bursaries

Each year we offer a limited amount of full and partial renewable bursaries to NEW outstanding Grade 8-12 students.

Families applying for bursaries are required to submit their financial information to Apple Financial Services, an independent third-party assessor. Apple Financial conducts a standardized and confidential review, then provides a summary and recommendation of its findings to help the school determine the level of financial need for each applicant.

How to Apply:

Complete a standard Southridge Application Form
- Check “bursary” in the appropriate box
- Pay the $300 school application fee
Register for the SSAT @ ssat.org
- Pay ssat fee
Once you have completed your application, bursary applicants must submit the Students Attending Canadian Schools (FACS) Form, available on the Apple Financial Services website
- Southridge will provide a waiver code to cover the cost of this assessment

Additional Bursary supporting documents:

Complete and upload 1-page essay
Grade 8 applicants: upload 2 reference letters (teacher, coach, advisor, religious leader, etc.)
Grades 9-12 applicants: upload 1 reference letter (teacher, coach, advisor, religious leader, etc.)

THE ALAN BROWN MEMORIAL BURSARY

Our founding Head of School, Alan Brown, laid the foundation for Southridge School. It was his vision, and his outstanding reputation as an educator, that attracted many of the first families to the school. With three daughters of his own, and a 30-year career of educating only boys, Mr. Brown was instrumental in founding Southridge, in part, to realize his dream of educating girls.

Mr. Brown was deeply committed to supporting students through bursaries. In honour of his dedication to ensuring that all students, regardless of financial standing, might have the opportunity to receive an independent school education, Southridge School, with the generous support of his family and friends, has established the Alan Brown Memorial Bursary in his memory.

The Alan Brown Memorial Bursary is a partial, renewable bursary covering up to a maximum of 50% of tuition, for an outstanding new female Senior School student (GradeS 8-12).

THE CAROL E. LEVY MEMORIAL BURSARY

The Carol E. Levy Memorial Bursary is offered in memory of Carol Levy who passed away suddenly in 2007. Mrs. Levy was a founding parent of Southridge School, caring mother of Rachel, Rob, Victoria, and Hilary, and loving wife of Michael. Mrs. Levy was a remarkable woman who gave countless hours to the community and was instrumental in the formation of Southridge. Her unwavering dedication to the school is sorely missed, but her commitment to all children will be felt through this generous endowment in her name.

The Carol E. Levy Memorial Bursary is a full, renewable bursary covering up to 100% of tuition, awarded to an outstanding new Grade 10 student.

Financial Aid

Southridge was built on the desire to create a school community that develops young people who contribute to each other’s success – and the betterment of the wider world – regardless of financial standing. Each year we are proud to offer a limited amount of financial aid to a select number of new outstanding Senior School students (Grades 8-12) who we believe will make a meaningful contribution to our school community.

Scholarships

Southridge is proud to offer a limited number of one-time merit-based Entrance Scholarships of $7,500 and up to three renewable Scholarships, valued at up to $7,500 annually.

All scholarships are merit-based and are open to all NEW Senior School students! If you are entering Grades 8-12, we encourage you to apply.

Scholarships are awarded to exceptional students who pursue their passions with purpose—whether through a love of the arts, a dedication to academic excellence, or a heartfelt commitment to service. These are the students who leave a lasting mark on Southridge, shaping it for the generations to come.
