Please note: All applicants must be fluent in both oral and written English as we do not offer ESL programs at Southridge.

Application Deadlines

• Kindergarten: November 1, 2026
• Grades 1-12:  November 15, 2026

Application Fee

$300 - domestic applicants (parent of child is a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or in Canada on work or study visa)

$200 - reapplicant fee - applicable to applicants who completed an application for the 2026-2027 school year

$400 - international applicants (parent of child who is in Canada on a visitor visa)

Payment is to be submitted at the end of the online application form. We accept credit card (Visa/Mastercard). All fees are non-refundable. 

• Recent Photo - a recent photo of your child (shoulders and up)
• Age Verification - student birth certificate or passport
• Report Cards - final June report cards for two previous years
• Teacher Evaluation (Grades K-8 applicants) 
• Reference Letter (Grades 9-12 applicants)
• Video (Grades 8-12 applicants) - a 3-5 minute video

Please note that your child's application will not be reviewed until ALL documents are received.

Applicants will be invited to participate in our admissions assessments and testing. Assessments are designed to determine the applicant’s readiness for our program as well as identify their abilities and interests. 

Kindergarten - Dates: January 15 or January 16, 2027

All applicants must attend and complete an in-person assessment conducted by our teaching staff in January 2026. The Admissions team will schedule the assessments and send all details to applicants at a later date.

Grades 1 and 2 - Date: February 2, 2027

New applicants will be invited to attend an in-person assessment conducted by our teaching staff. The Admissions team will schedule the assessments and send details at a later date.

Grades 3-5 - Date: January 28, 2027

All applicants must complete an online test called the CAT5 offered through the Canadian Test Centre. The CAT5 is a standardized test that assesses language comprehension and mathematical aptitude. Please note there is a fee associated with the CAT5 test: $157/student plus applicable taxes.

If you are applying internationally, you will need to consider the time zone differences. Unfortunately, due to regional internet regulations and restrictions on VPN usage, applicants from Mainland China are not able to access the CAT5 test.

Grades 6-12
All applicants must complete the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT). The SSAT must be completed no later than December 1, 2026 and is available as follows: 

• in person at Southridge School on Saturday, November 7, 2026
• online at home through ssat.org 
• in person at Prometric Test Centres in the Lower Mainland

Note: the cost of the SSAT varies according to age-level. Please find pricing, test dates, and registration instructions at the link below and use Southridge School - 7431 as the score recipient.

Selected applicants will be contacted by an email invitation for interview. The meetings will take place at our Southridge campus by the Admissions team. This is an opportunity for us to get to know your family better.

Kindergarten: All applicants will be invited to a parent interview.
Grades 1–7: Select applicants will be invited to a parent interview.
Grades 8–12: Select applicants will be invited to a parent and student interview.

Please note: Unfortunately due to the high volume of interviews each year, we do not re-interview parents re-applying for a subsequent grade.

All admission decisions will be communicated to families through their online account by the following dates:

• Kindergarten: February 15, 2027
• Grades 1-7: March 15, 2027
• Grade 8: March 1, 2027
• Grades 9-12: March 15, 2027

Additional offers may be made following these dates if and when spaces become available due to attrition.
