How to Apply

We are now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year.

Our admissions process is set up to consider your child as a whole person, not just a potential student. To ensure that your child will thrive at Southridge, we look at a variety of criteria including participation in extracurricular activities, academic record, citizenship, motivation, determination, and resiliency.

All applicants must be fluent in both oral and written English; we do not offer ESL programs at Southridge.

Kindergarten - Friday November 1, 2024
Grades 1-12 - Sunday December 1, 2024

To complete, please submit application fee defined as follows:

$300 - domestic applicants (parent of child is a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or in Canada on work or study visa)
$400 - international applicants (parent of child is in Canada on a visitor visa)

4. Submit Required Documents

Within two business days of submitting an application form, applicants will be assigned an Application checklist requesting the required documents below to enable us to get an accurate picture of your child:

Please note: our preference is PDF's. Please ensure that all information is fully visible in the documents that you upload.

The following documents are required to complete your application:

Recent Photo - a recent photo of your child
Age Verification - student birth certificate or passport
Report Cards - final June report cards for two previous years
Teacher Evaluation (Grades K-8 applicants)
Reference Letter (Grades 9-12 applicants)
Video (Grades 8-12 applicants) - a 3 - 5 minute video

Applications are not considered complete and will not be reviewed until all supporting documents are received.

5. Assessments and Testing

Applicants will be invited to participate in our admissions assessments and testing. Assessments are designed to determine the applicant’s readiness for our program as well as identify their abilities and interests.

Kindergarten - Dates: January 17, 2025 OR January 18, 2025

All applicants must attend and complete an in -person assessment conducted by our teaching staff in January 2025. The Admissions team will schedule the assessments and send all details to applicants at a later date.

Grade 2 - Date: February 3, 2025

All applicants must attend and complete an in-person assessment conducted by our teaching staff. The Admissions team will schedule the assessments and send all details to applicants at a later date.

Grades 3-5 - Date: February 6, 2025

All applicants must complete an online test called the CAT5 offered through the Canadian Test Centre. The CAT5 assesses language comprehension and mathematics. Please note there is a fee associated with the Cat5 test.

If you are applying internationally, you will need to consider the time zone differences. Unfortunately, due to internet laws, applicants from China will not be able to take this test. A VPN is not permitted.

Grades 6-12

All applicants will complete the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT). The test can be taken online from home or at a Prometric Test Centre. We recommend you complete the test as soon as possible and no later than December 10, 2024. The cost of the SSAT varies according to type. Please find pricing, test dates and registration instructions at the link below.

6. Interview

Please note: we do not re-interview parents re-applying for a subsequent grade.

Kindergarten Parent Interview: All applicants will be contacted for an interview.

Grades 1-7 Parent Interview: Select applicants applying to Grades 2 and 4 (intake years) will be contacted for an interview.

- Select applicants to Grades 1, 3, 5, 6, and 7 (non-intake grades) will be contacted for an interview should a space become available.

Grades 8-12 Parent and Student Interview: Select applicants applying to Grades 8-12 will be contacted for interviews.
