Neighbour Relations
At Southridge, we believe in fostering a positive relationship with our surrounding community. We recognize the importance of being a responsible and engaged neighbour. This page provides an overview of our commitment to our neighbours and outlines how we work to maintain strong, respectful ties with those around us.
Our Commitment to the Community
Southridge works hard to maintain a peaceful, safe, and friendly environment for both our students and the people who live and work near us. We value open communication and welcome feedback from our neighbours.
Key Areas of Focus
- Communication - We prioritize transparency and open lines of communication. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact us directly.
- Events and School Activities - Our school hosts various events throughout the year, including sporting events, fundraisers, performances, and community service activities. We strive to ensure that these events are enjoyable and that they respect the schedules and peace of our neighbours. We will provide advance notice for events that might cause additional noise or traffic on this webpage.
- Safety and Security - The safety of our students and the surrounding community is a top priority. We have security measures in place, including well-trained staff and regular campus safety drills. If you have any safety concerns, we are always available to discuss them and work collaboratively to ensure that the school and adjacent neighbours feel secure.
- Environmental Responsibility - We are committed to environmental sustainability and encourage practices that support a clean, healthy neighbourhood. Our school participates in the City of Surrey Adopt-A-Street program, to ensure a local area in the neighbourhood stays clean and litter-free. Our Grade 8-12 advisory groups take turns cleaning up this adopted area, showing that small efforts can add up to big changes in our community.
- Community Involvement - Southridge encourages our students to engage with the local community. Whether through volunteering, local charity drives, or neighbourhood clean-ups, we actively seek opportunities to give back and contribute to making our neighbourhood a better place.
