A Warm Welcome to Southridge!
Erin McDonald

Join us in welcoming and get to know some of our new Southridge faculty. If you see them around campus, be sure to say hello!

Jennifer Freele
English Teacher, Senior School

Originally from Ottawa, Jen has lived in several parts of Canada and is excited about returning to British Columbia. Like most who appreciate the benefits of living in western Canada, hiking, camping, snowboarding, and snowshoeing are some of her favourite activities! Travel is also a big part of her life, and she's always searching for new adventures, both locally and afar.

Jen completed her Bachelor of Arts at Trent University, her Bachelor of Education at Queen's University, and her Master of Education at Cape Breton University.

Jennifer has heard great things about Southridge and is excited to be part of the passionate Southridge team. She is also looking forward to learning more about the Harkness discussion methodology.

Morgan Gunning
Kindergarten Early Childhood Educator, Junior School

Morgan is originally from South Africa and moved to the British Isles before settling in Canada with her family, which consists of her fiancé, Lee, and her cat, Eeyore.

She enjoys reading, walking in nature, and movie marathons.

Morgan completed her Early Childhood Education Certificate at the Pacific Rim Early Childhood Institute. She believes every student is unique and intentionally seeks to provide a caring, engaging, and safe environment for children to grow and express themselves freely.

Morgan looks forward to supporting the Kindergarten classes and learning about the Southridge community.

Tanya Paquette
Educational Assistant, Junior School

Tanya holds an Orton Gillingham Certificate for Literacy and Math from the Canadian Academy of Therapeutic Tutors and an Applied Behaviour Analysis Certificate from the Surrey School District.

Tanya grew up in Delta and has lived in South Surrey for the past 15 years. She has worked for the Surrey School District for 11 years in elementary and secondary schools.

In her free time, she loves to be outdoors, especially in the mountains; mountain biking, trail running, rock climbing, and skiing are some of her favourite activities.

She looks forward to supporting student learning and working with everyone in the Southridge community!
