A Warm Welcome to Southridge! Part 2
Darcie Sagert

In follow-up to our previous post, join us in welcoming and get to know some of our new Junior School faculty.

Marcia Wall
Library Technician, Junior School

Marcia enjoys playing drums, gardening, and attending live shows. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Jeff, and their 20 year old daughter Gracie and 17 year old son Jonas. Marcia’s family has a cat named Ollie, a ragdoll tabby cross, who thinks he is a dog, and recently rescued another cat named Peggie, a tortoiseshell tripod cat.

Marcia completed the Library Technician Program at Langara College. She is really looking forward to being back in a school environment as she loves seeing students develop passions for reading and learning.

Jordan Gentile
Grade 1 PYP Teacher

Jordan has a passion for exploring new cities and experiencing different places and cultures. He also enjoys spending time outdoors—whether it’s hiking a new trail or kayaking on the water. He’s also a big fan of movies, both classics and new releases, as he finds that stories on screen often spark his curiosity and creativity

Jordan took Child and Youth Studies at Brock University, completed a Bachelor of Education at Trent University, and a Master of Arts in Critical Policy, Equity, and Leadership Studies at Western University.

Jordan loves creating opportunities for his students to explore their questions, test ideas, and make meaningful connections between what they’re learning in class and the world around them. It’s rewarding to see students develop not just knowledge, but also the confidence and independence to think critically and collaborate with others. The most fulfilling part to him is watching those skills and attitudes grow over time, knowing they’ll carry them well beyond the classroom.

Jordan is looking forward to being part of the Southridge community and collaborating with such a dedicated group of faculty and staff. He’s looking forward to learning from his colleagues, sharing ideas, and growing together as educators to create meaningful experiences for students.
