Lunar New Year Assembly

Southridge has so many different assemblies, some are designated for the appreciation for different cultures. Lunar New Year is an assembly I am especially looking forward to because it has always been a highlight for me and it is cool to celebrate your culture at your school. I am very excited and anticipate this assembly because I am also hosting and taking part in it.

 

Different Sport Teams

There is also a wide variety of different sports to choose from, whether it’s something new or adapting new skills. Every new term brings a new wave of sports and I have developed a passion for basketball. In the new term, ultimate frisbee, soccer and track will take the spotlight which is time for a new set of skills to shine.

 

Ambassador Roles

In grade 7, there is a unique opportunity to demonstrate leadership and be a role model to younger grades by taking part in ambassador roles. We recently just submitted our applications and receiving new roles is always something to look forward to. From house captains to community ambassadors to birthday ambassadors, there are so many different roles to look forward to, along with new and different responsibilities.

 

Country Fair

Even though this is something that will happen later on in the year, this time it will be different from the other years since as the new grade 7s, we will be selling a product of our design at the Country Fair. This is such a great time to test your creativity and have fun with your friends while doing so.

 

Barter Day

In humanities class, there will be a project where you can bring anything you make to school and you learn to barter with each other. I believe that this was the way of life before there was a form of currency or a developed trade market system. This would be such a special experience to learn from and a great way to learn trade.
