New Faculty Spotlight - Ally Timmers

This year, we’re pleased to welcome Ally Timmers to Southridge as an Internal Teacher on Call in our Senior School. With a background in English and the humanities and a passion for the arts, literature, and learning, Ms. Timmers brings a diverse range of experiences to our community.

Originally from Winnipeg, Ms. Timmers moved to BC last year. Before beginning her teaching career, she spent several years at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, working with students in the professional division who lived in student boarding. That experience gave her the opportunity to work closely with young people while developing her own passion for education and the arts.

Ms. Timmers teaching specialties are English and the humanities, but in her role as an Internal Teacher on Call, she’ll have the opportunity to work with students across a wide range of subject areas. She’s looking forward to getting to know Southridge students and staff and becoming part of the school community.

Life beyond the classroom

When she’s not at school, Ms. Timmers enjoys spending time outdoors, discovering local cafés and shops, seeing live music, and relaxing with a good book or show. She also loves spending time with her dog, Richie, a mini long-haired dachshund who has a big personality.

With her love of learning, the arts, and working with students, we’re delighted to welcome Ms. Timmers to Southridge and look forward to the experience and perspective she’ll bring to our Senior School.
