New Faculty Spotlight - Tian Han
Parveen Loodu

We’re excited to welcome Tian Han to Southridge as a Modern Languages Teacher in our Senior School. With extensive international teaching experience and a deep passion for language and culture, Ms. Han is excited to help students discover the many ways learning another language can open doors to the world.

Ms. Han holds a Bachelor of Arts in French Linguistics from the State University of New York, a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia, where she was part of the IB Diploma Programme cohort, and a Master’s degree from the University of Strasbourg in France.

Over the past seven years, Ms. Han has had the opportunity to teach in a variety of international settings. These experiences have strengthened her passion for language education and shaped her approach to the classroom. She loves helping students discover the beauty of learning another language while creating an environment where they feel comfortable taking risks, speaking up, and using French in authentic, meaningful ways.

More than just a language

For Ms. Han, learning French is about much more than grammar and vocabulary. It’s an opportunity to discover new cultures, perspectives, and ways of thinking - and to build connections with the world beyond the classroom. Her goal is to help students develop both confidence and curiosity, so they see French not simply as a subject to study, but as a tool for communication and connection.

Outside of school, Ms. Han enjoys discovering cozy cafés and pastry shops with friends, particularly when a delicious chocolate croissant or beautifully crafted dessert is involved. She also enjoys attending tea workshops and learning about different tea traditions. And when she’s on holiday, Ms. Han loves to travel and explore new cultures. She has visited more than 30 countries so far and is always eager to discover new places, languages, and perspectives.

We’re delighted to welcome Ms. Han to Southridge and look forward to the energy, experience, and global perspective she’ll bring to our Senior School community.
