Join us in welcoming some of our newest Southridge faculty members. We asked them to tell us a bit about themselves, what they enjoy doing in their spare time, and what they're looking forward to about being a part of the Southridge community. If you see them around campus, be sure to say hello!
Junior School Edtech Leader & MYP Design Teacher
My teaching background includes teaching in the PYP and MYP for the past ten years. I recently completed my Master of Educational Technology from the University of British Columbia. I enjoy collaborating with colleagues to find meaningful ways to integrate technology into the inquiry based classroom. When I am not teaching or learning about new technologies I love to spend time with my family outdoors, hiking, biking, and exploring new places. I love reading and digital sketchnoting as well. I’m looking forward to meeting the students and being part of such a welcoming community. This year I will be leading a STEM club in the Junior School and I’m excited to see how students explore problem solving and creativity through an innovator's mindset.
Senior Science Teacher
I'm coming to Southridge from Alberta where I taught math and sciences. I attended the University of Alberta and before teaching I worked in veterinary practice for 9 years as an emergency and ICU technician.
I have a husky collie rescue dog who made the move to BC with me. I enjoy going on mountain hikes, walking the beach, and practicing yoga.
I'm looking forward to meeting a whole new community of students, parents, and teachers and learning about all of what Southridge has to offer!
